Dr. Ertan Altınsoy, Director of the School of Foreign Languages at Aksaray University (ASÜ), and Dr. Ekmel Emrah Hakman, Head of Department, participated in the “Teaching for Tomorrow” seminar organized by National Geographic Education.
In the first session of the event in Girne, educator and author John Hughes presented on the importance of visual literacy in English classrooms and the role of visuals in language learning; educator and author Alex Warren presented on innovative approaches to preparing students for the future within the framework of 21st-century skills. Other sessions included practical suggestions for integrating the concept of sustainability into ELT (Educational Technology) classrooms and evaluations of methods for developing convergent and divergent thinking skills in language teaching. Throughout the day, participants received both theoretical training and had the opportunity to develop practical strategies through classroom applications.
The seminar is considered an inspiring and up-to-date professional platform for academics teaching language in higher education institutions.
